Last-Minute Digital Gifts for Outdoor People
New for the 2026 holidays. Missed the shipping deadline? Everything here can be bought and sent today.
Shipping deadlines sneak up fast. If you’ve missed one and still need a gift for the hiker, the camper or the person who’s always planning their next trip, this list is for you.
Good news: some of the best gifts for outdoor people don’t need to ship at all. These are memberships, points and downloads you can buy today and send by email. Most of them are more useful than anything you’d find in a store at the last minute.
Short on time? Here are my top picks.
- Top pick: AllTrails+. Every hike, better planned.
- Best for gear lovers: REI Co-op Membership
For Hikers
1. AllTrails+, Best Digital Gift for Hikers
AllTrails+ is the paid version of the trail app most hikers already use. It adds offline maps for when the signal drops, alerts if you go off route, and more detailed planning tools.
Anyone who hikes a lot will use it every week. And there’s nothing to ship.
2. REI Co-op Membership, Best for Gear Lovers
An REI membership is a one-time lifetime fee. Members get 10% back each year on eligible purchases, member offers and coupons, and member pricing on things like classes, events and rentals.
For someone who buys a lot of outdoor gear, it pays for itself. Check REI’s site for the current price and benefits, since they change from time to time.
For Travelers
3. Marriott Bonvoy Points, Best for Big Hotel Networks
Marriott has hotels almost everywhere, including near a lot of national parks. Bonvoy points can be bought and gifted to another member.
Watch for point sales. Marriott runs bonus promotions on purchased points a few times a year.
4. Hilton Honors Points, Best for Road Trippers
Hilton’s brands cover a lot of small towns, which is handy on long road trips. You can buy Hilton Honors points and gift them to someone else.
A nice pairing with a road trip they’re already planning.
For Someone Who Needs a Reset
5. Printable Planners and Trackers, Best for Autistic and ADHD Adults
Full disclosure: these are mine. I make printable planners and trackers for autistic and ADHD adults, sold as instant PDF downloads on Etsy. There’s a holiday planner, an energy tracker, burnout tools and more.
They download right away, so they work for any deadline.
Why Digital Gifts Work for Outdoor People
Outdoor people are picky about gear. They want the exact headlamp, the exact pack, the right size. That makes gear a risky last-minute gift.
Memberships and points skip that problem. They let the person choose what they actually want, and they’re useful all year.
