Outdoor Gear Worth Watching on Black Friday 2026
Black Friday 2026. Black Friday is Nov 27 and Cyber Monday is Nov 30. I will update this list with real prices as deals go live.
Black Friday is a good time to buy outdoor gear, but only if it’s gear you were going to buy anyway. A deal on something you don’t need isn’t a deal.
So this isn’t a list of every sale. It’s a short list of the gear from my buying guides that I’d actually wait for. Most of it is big-ticket stuff, where even a modest discount saves real money.
Deals aren’t live yet. Bookmark this page. I’ll update it with real prices once they drop.
Short on time? Here are my top picks.
- Top pick: EcoFlow RIVER 2 Max. A sweet spot of size and power.
Camp Power and Fridges
1. EcoFlow RIVER 2 Max, Best Power Station to Watch
512Wh, 1,000W output, about 13 pounds, and it charges from a wall in about an hour. It’s the mid-size power station I’d recommend to most campers.
Power stations are one of the categories where Black Friday sales are often worth waiting for.
2. Jackery Explorer 300, Best Small Power Station to Watch
7 pounds and 293Wh. Enough for phones, a camera and a laptop on a short trip. A good pick if you want something light.
3. ICECO VL35ProS, Best Overlanding Fridge to Watch
The fridge I’d put in most overlanding rigs. 35 liters, a Secop compressor with a five-year warranty, and it runs as a fridge or freezer.
If you’ve been living with a cooler full of melted ice, this is the upgrade to wait for.
Sleep and Shelter
4. NEMO Sonic -20, Best Winter Sleeping Bag to Watch
Covers -20°F to 40°F in one bag, with 850-fill hydrophobic down. A big purchase, and one worth timing with a sale.
5. Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XTherm NXT, Best Cold-Weather Pad to Watch
A 7.3 R-value pad that weighs 15 ounces. On cold ground, your pad matters as much as your bag.
Layers and Light
6. Cotopaxi Fuego Down Hooded Jacket, Best Down Jacket to Watch
A hooded down jacket for breaks and summit stops, when your body cools down fast. Packs small when you don’t need it.
7. Kahtoola MICROspikes, Best Traction to Watch
Stainless steel spikes that slip over hiking boots for icy trails. A step up from coil cleats when the ice gets serious. Available at Backcountry.
8. Black Diamond Storm 500-R Headlamp, Best Headlamp to Watch
500 lumens, rechargeable and waterproof. Short winter days mean more hiking in the dark.
9. Garmin inReach Mini, Best Safety Gear to Watch
Satellite texting, location sharing and SOS when there’s no cell service. It needs a satellite plan, so factor that into the total cost.
Cozy Stuff
10. Comfrt Ember Heated Blanket, Best Cozy Gift to Watch
Comfrt’s heated blanket, made from their plush, velvety fabric. Four sizes. I own a lot of Comfrt hoodies and pants, so I know how soft the fabric is.
How I Shop Black Friday
Make a list first. Only buy what was already on it.
Check the price history. Some “deals” are the normal price with a crossed-out number next to it.
Watch the return policy. Holiday return windows are usually longer, which makes it easier to try gear at home.
If you shop at REI a lot, look at an REI Co-op membership. Members get 10% back each year on eligible purchases, plus member offers and coupons.
